Cloundforest Experience

Poas Volcano Lodge offers a peaceful and tranquil haven high up in the cloud forest, a perfect retreat for both intrepid explorers and business meetings alike, just 45 minutes away from San Jose airport.

Sitting Room

The sitting room is an elegant and comfortable space, in the heart of the Lodge, from which to enjoy the surroundings. The focal point of the room is a stunning Costa Rican tropical Oak tree standing in the middle of the space and salvaged from the farm after a storm.

Library

Our Library offers a selection of books on local history, geography, flora and fauna, as well as novels for the enjoyment of the guests. It has a relaxed atmosphere, with comfortable sofas surrounding a log burner and far reaching views.

Games & Cine Room

The Games room includes a full sized American pool table, chess sets and various other board games that children and adults alike will enjoy. There is a large open fire and comfortable sofas and lots of information about local tours and attractions which makes it a great space to plan your ongoing journey.

Treat yourself to a relaxing massage during your stay.

Green House & Boot Room

Borrow a pair of rubber farm boots, and walking sticks from inside the Green House. A lovely spot to have a morning coffee, write your postcards or plan your onward journey.

Trails

Explore the Poas Volcano surroundings, the majestic life and nature of the Costa Rican cloud forest by taking a walk through our trails. Our trails are full of wildlife and you can spot some birds like toucanets, Costa Rica’s national bird the clay-colored robin, and the area’s most famous avian resident, the quetzal.
